This guide explains how to connect your Clio account with Divorcepath, configure the synchronization settings between the two systems, and manage (pause or disable) the integration.
1. Overview
The Clio integration enables a two-way sync between your Clio account and Divorcepath. When activated, the integration can automatically:

2. Activating the Integration

Steps to Activate
Navigate to the Integrations Page:
In your Divorcepath profile, go to the “Integrations” section.
Click “Sign In With Clio”:
You will see a “Sign In With Clio” button. Click it to start the authorization process.
Authorize the Application:
Log in to your Clio account and grant the requested permissions. Once authorized, you will be redirected back to Divorcepath. The system checks for an authorization code and automatically updates your integration status.
Integration Status:
Upon successful authorization, the integration’s control panel is displayed. This panel now gives you the options to configure the sync settings between Clio and Divorcepath:
3. Configuring Your Integration
Once connected, you can configure how Divorcepath interacts with Clio. The configuration options are divided into two groups: syncing options and deletion behavior.
Syncing Options
Within the settings interface (Clio Settings Form), you have several toggles:
When enabled, any new client that appears in Clio matters will automatically be created as a Divorcepath client.
When enabled, new clients created in Divorcepath will result in new Clio matters being automatically established.
This option ensures that new documents attached to Clio matters are copied over and linked to the corresponding Divorcepath client records.
This option will copy any new documents or updates from Divorcepath to the associated Clio matters.
Deletion Settings
There are two dropdown menus that allow you to choose how deletions are handled in each system:
On Delete From Clio:
Choose between:
On Delete from Divorcepath
Likewise, choose between:
After making any changes, click the Save button to update your integration settings.
4. Pausing or Disabling the Integration
If, for any reason, you wish to temporarily halt synchronization or permanently disconnect your Clio account from Divorcepath, you have two options:
This will temporarily suspend data syncing. You can resume syncing later by toggling it back on.
This permanently disconnects the Clio integration. Use this option if you no longer wish to maintain the connection between your Clio and Divorcepath accounts.
Both options are available from the integration control panel and include a brief description of what each action will do.
5. Request Migration for Historical Data
The integration automatically links new clients and documents from Clio and Divorcepath. However, historical data (older Clio matters and contacts that have already been in your system) is not automatically imported or linked.

6. Troubleshooting and Support
An active subscription is required. If the upgrade modal appears when attempting to sign in with Clio, please upgrade your plan.
If the OAuth window fails to open, make sure that pop-ups are allowed in your browser.
If you notice delays in syncing, this may be due to the volume of data. Please wait a few moments for the process to complete.
