About the role
We're looking for an Account Executive to help Canadian family law professionals discover Divorcepath and adopt it across their practice. You'll own the full sales cycle — from identifying prospective firms to running product demos to closing deals and handing off to our customer success team.
This is a foundational sales hire. You won't be slotting into an existing playbook — you'll be helping build one. You'll work directly with our product and customer success teams to shape how we go to market, what messaging resonates, and how we grow across Canada.
Our buyers are family lawyers, mediators, and firm administrators. They're smart, busy, and skeptical of technology that doesn't deliver. The best candidates for this role will be genuinely curious about what these professionals do every day and motivated by helping them work more efficiently.
What you'll do
- Identify and engage prospective family law firms, mediators, and legal aid organizations across Canada through outbound outreach and inbound lead follow-up
- Run product demos tailored to each prospect's practice — showing how Divorcepath handles their specific workflows around support calculations, court forms, financial disclosure, and document automation
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through negotiation, close, and handoff to customer success
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline using our CRM, keeping forecasts accurate and activity transparent
- Develop relationships with firm decision-makers, including managing partners, practice group leads, and office administrators
- Collaborate with product and marketing to share what you're hearing from the market — objections, feature requests, competitive intelligence
- Represent Divorcepath at legal industry events, conferences, and webinars across Canada
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience, ideally selling to professional services firms (legal, accounting, consulting)
- Track record of meeting or exceeding quota in a full-cycle sales role
- Strong demo and presentation skills — you can learn a complex product and explain it clearly to non-technical buyers
- Comfort with outbound prospecting — cold calls, cold emails, LinkedIn outreach, conference networking
- Genuine curiosity about the legal industry and how technology can improve it
- Self-starter who thrives with autonomy — you'll have support but not micromanagement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Based in Calgary or willing to relocate (this role involves in-person collaboration with our team)
Nice to have
- Experience selling into law firms or the legal technology market
- Familiarity with family law concepts (support calculations, financial disclosure, court forms)
- Experience at an early-stage company where you helped define the sales process
- Bilingual (English/French) — helpful for Quebec and New Brunswick markets
What we offer
- Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission
- Benefits package
- A product that sells itself once people see it — our demo-to-close rate is strong because the platform genuinely solves painful problems
- Direct access to leadership and real input into company strategy
- The opportunity to build the sales function at a company with strong product-market fit and a growing customer base
- A team that respects the sales role and understands its importance to the company's growth
