Document repositories let your organization connect approved Microsoft 365 libraries to Divorcepath so matters can be linked to the right storage location and documents can be saved or versioned in place.
Before you start
- you need organization admin access in Divorcepath
- you need a Microsoft administrator who can approve Microsoft 365 repository consent
- you should know whether your organization wants to use SharePoint, OneDrive, or both
- you should decide whether client folders should be created automatically
- you should review your preferred folder template, naming template, and upload behavior before rollout
- you should know which libraries or locations are approved for use with Divorcepath
Step 1: Open the Microsoft 365 repository settings
In Divorcepath, open your organization’s Microsoft 365 repository integration settings and begin the admin consent flow. After Microsoft returns the admin to Divorcepath, the integration should finalize on the Microsoft 365 repository settings screen.
Step 2: Complete Microsoft admin consent
Sign in with the Microsoft administrator account for the correct tenant and approve repository access. Divorcepath validates that the returning tenant matches the original request before the repository connection is finalized.
Step 3: Configure repository behavior
Once the connection is complete, review the repository settings for your organization:
- repository modes
- automatic client folder creation
- default folder template
- document naming template
- upload behavior for new files and later saves
Step 4: Sync locations and approve libraries
Sync available Microsoft 365 locations, then review the results and mark only the approved libraries or locations as allowed. This gives your team access only to the repositories your organization intends to use.
Step 5: Link matters to approved locations
After locations are allowed, link a matter to the right repository location. This creates the connection Divorcepath needs to save documents into the correct Microsoft 365 library for that matter.
Step 6: Test first save and versioning
Run a pilot save with a real document. Confirm that the first save lands in the right Microsoft 365 location and that later updates follow the expected upload or versioning behavior for your configuration.
What success looks like
- approved SharePoint or OneDrive locations appear in Divorcepath
- unapproved libraries are not available to end users
- matters can be linked to the correct repository location
- documents save successfully into Microsoft 365 and later updates follow the expected versioning pattern
Common issues
- Tenant mismatch: the admin completed consent in a different Microsoft tenant
- Location not allowed: the library was synced but has not been approved for organization use
- Matter cannot save: the matter is linked to a location that is no longer allowed
- Missing drive information: re-link the matter to an allowed Microsoft 365 library
